Congratulations to the BPSC Essex League swimmers who got off to a great start by securing top place at the first gala of four in the 2020 season.
The first round of the Essex League season got off to a great start with a fierce competition between the eight clubs. A fantastic level of support from the gallery, added to the vocal support from the swimmers’ teammates on poolside, created a vibrant atmosphere which helped drive the individual swimmers onto some great swims.
At the end of the night Basildon and Phoenix had secured first place from the initial round, pushed onward by a great performance from Harlow who finished in second place. Fighting it out at the other end of the table were Leyton and Hornchurch who each showed great competitive spirit ending up on equal points when the last race of the night was done. All in all results showing good promise for some competitive tussles in future galas.
