Day 3: British Summer Championships in Sheffield
The excellent performances continued on Day 3 at the British Summer Championships in Sheffield.
We had 5 individual swims in the heats with 4 progressing into the final and also the Girls 14-16yrs 4 x 200 Free relay in action.
Danielle Hartin & Charlotte Hartin competed in the MC 100 Breaststroke with Danielle finishing in 4th place and Charlotte finishing in 5th place in the final. Their times were: Danielle 1:18.62 in the heat and 1:18.71 in the final and Charlotte 1:25.88 in the heat then faster in the final with 1:25.72
Liam Brennan swam a fantastic 5 seconds personal best time in the heat of the 400 Individual Medley with a time of 4:48.09min then 4:48.57min in the final to finish as the 8th fastest 15 year old boy in Great Britain.
Gus Veasey also took to the pool in the 400 IM posting a season best time of 4:39.60min to finish 12th in the 19 and older age group.
Macy Lawrence swam a controlled time of 27.25sec in the heats of the 50 Free to progress to the final then sprinted her way to a fantastic BRONZE MEDAL in the 15 year age group posting a super-fast of 26.85 seconds
Our girls in the 4 x 200 Free relay was the first ever girls relay at the British Championships and they did themselves and the club very proud. They finished 22nd in the event with great effort all round; Ellie Wheeler 2:10.34 / Issie Marshall 2:14.89 / Megan Key 2:17.20 / Erin Lee 2:13.75
