Swim England Winter Nationals 2017 – Results

BPSC swimmers, James Cooper, Mason Hunnisett, Macy Lawrence, Samuel Perks, Gus Veasey, Ellie Wheeler and Jack Williams all went to the Swim England Winter Nationals, held at Ponds Forge in Sheffield in December.  Here, better late than never, are the results…

(Apologies for the delay in compiling this…)

Day One

Day one produced personal best times from Sam Perks in the 100 Backstroke and 50 Butterfly, and Ellie Wheeler qualified to swim again in the B Final of the 400 Individual Medley.

Day Three

Day three was another successful day in Sheffield, with 2 BPSC swimmers putting in outstanding performances just outside their personal bests, and a 3rd swimmer managing his third PB in three swims earning himself the Junior Silver Medal in 50 Backstroke

Full results for the day…

Mason Hunnisett: 200 Fly 2:15.77

James Cooper: 50 Back 29.90

Sam Perks: 27.46 (PB)

Day Four

Our busiest day in Sheffield with 5 swimmers in action across 6 races.

Ellie Wheeler was back in action posting good times in her 200 IM and 200 Backstroke, with very little recovery time between them.  Jack Williams swam a powerful 50m Breaskstroke, just .01 outside his personal best.  Mason Hunnisett and Sam perks shared the middle of the pool in an epic 100 Butterfly showdown, where Sam lead with a strong first 50 but falling to Mason’s dominant endurance in the second 50 where Mason took the lead with very little distance left in the race.  Taking 1st and 2nd in that heat with a personal best each, it was incredibly entertaining to watch.  On top of all that excitement, Macy Lawrence superbly executed a 100m Freestyle swim, leading all the way to a Junior Bronze Medal and a new personal best.

Full results for the day…

Ellie Wheeler: 200 IM 2:24.75, 200 Back 2:25.21

Jack Williams: 50 Breast 31.93

Mason Hunnisett: 100 Fly 59.90 (PB)

Sam Perks: 100 Fly 60.11 (PB)

Macy Lawrence: 100 Free 58.09 (PB)

Day Five

Much quieter day for our Head Coach on the last day of the Swim England Winter National Championships.  Just two swimmers to work with; James Cooper with two races and Sam Perks with his final race of the week.

Full results for the day…

James Cooper: 50 Free 25.78, 200 Back 2:15.42

Sam Perks: 200 Back 2:13.79
